Her Story

About Kaylee

My main area of expertise is program management and building out programs for partnership ecosystems. A lot of it is thinking about the partner experience and the partner journey from onboarding to what the go-to-market route would be with partners in the partnership world, and also sales - thinking about how my partner and I can go to market together. I'd also say collaboration cross-functionally is key, as these partner program manager roles have a lot of cross-functional ties, so I'm really focused on building out those relationships both internal and external. On a daily basis, I make sure the partnership program I'm running is moving forward, ensuring key stakeholders are there. With the co-selling motion, I'm really making sure the reps, both on the partnership side and the internal reps, are supported with any sort of reporting needs, marketing collateral, and things like that. I'm always trying to innovate with programs that are scalable - you build a program, build out that feedback loop, and you're always innovating and trying to make it cost-effective for the business. My most notable professional achievement so far is building out the entire partner program from the ground up at my old company - the entire guide, the deal registration, the ROE, the infrastructure within Salesforce, the contracts, and the partner journey, along with a lot of the resources that the partners got.

01What do you attribute your success to?

Growing up playing sports really instilled the competitive side of me, the ambition, and the dedication and hard work it takes. I think all of those skills that were instilled in me young kind of translate into my professional career. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a perfectionist, because I think everybody learns from your mistakes, especially if you're in the sports world, but I would say that it helps me ground myself and pivot if something isn't working, especially in a programmatic role. When you're happy in your personal life, it really translates a lot into your career life and your professional life, and when you're passionate about it, it shows. Hard work really does pay off, and you have to know that your journey isn't traditional to everyone else's journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When you're in an environment that feels very stressful and overwhelmed, I think you kind of sit there and identify whether or not this is something bringing value to your personal life. When you're happy in your personal life, it really translates a lot into your career life and your professional life, and when you're passionate about it, it shows. Hard work really does pay off, and just know that your journey isn't traditional to everyone else's journey, and that you'll know when it's time to bring your expertise elsewhere, or if this isn't suiting you.
