Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kaylee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my resilience, work ethic, and determination. I’ve always been someone who can dig myself out of difficult situations, whether they’re physical, professional, or mental. I have a strong mindset and a fighter’s heart, and I don’t give up easily. I’ve faced challenges that could have held me back, but instead, they pushed me to work harder and become stronger. Ultimately, I believe my success comes down to my dedication, perseverance, and willingness to keep moving forward no matter what.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

This older gentleman once told me, Kaylee It is okay to say no. Its okay to say no to meetings you dont want to attend to. It is okay to say no to business ideas that you do not like. And that was honestly a game changer for me, because prior to that advice it was very easy for me to fall into being a people pleaser and always saying yes, even when you I knew a better solution. So, it really did kind of, you know, straighten my spine a little bit when he told me that, and it really has been life-changing.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to never be afraid to be the only woman in the room. Just because you may be in a male-dominated industry that does not mean that your voice is not heard or respected. People respect when you speak your opinion and you do not let stuff roll off your back.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think one of the biggest struggles in the roofing industry right now is navigating rising costs, labor shortages, and an industry that’s changing faster than ever. But honestly, I see those challenges as opportunities. The companies that are going to succeed aren’t necessarily going to be the biggest—they’re going to be the ones that adapt, stay innovative, and continue putting people and quality first

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of my core values is inspiring the people around me—encouraging others to work hard, grow, and become the best version of themselves. Personally, my daughter is my biggest motivation. I want to give her the best life possible while setting an example of hard work, discipline, and taking care of yourself. I believe success means taking care of yourself mentally and physically while continuing to grow.
