About Kazuko
Kazuko Aoyagi has built a distinguished career spanning academic research, biotechnology, and sales within the CRO sector. With a PhD in science earned through graduate studies while balancing responsibilities as a single parent, she entered sales in 2002 after an unexpected job loss and has remained in the role for 24 years, finding fulfillment in advancing new medicines for unmet needs. Her contributions extend beyond her professional duties as the first female president in the 30-year history of the U.S.-Japan Healthcare Group, where she continues on the board of directors, and as former president of the Princeton Japanese Association. She has also volunteered by spearheading an after-school science program at the Boys and Girls Club, drawing on her scientific expertise to inspire others. Aoyagi attributes her success to determination and effort, exemplified by her journey from a straight-A student and self-described nerd to a marathon runner, certified personal trainer, and builder of a multi-million dollar home in the Walnut Creek area of California.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kazuko
01What do you attribute your success to?
My determination and effort. Even as a child I was a straight A student because I prepared for class and reviewed after. My motto is anything you put your mind to you can do it. I went from being a nerd to running marathons and becoming a certified personal trainer. I built a multi-million dollar house with cash.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Dream big. Don't limit yourself. Sky is the limit. Don't whine. If you have time to complain, use that time every day to go towards your goal. Exercise and eat healthy.
