Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the leadership foundation I developed in college, as well as my dedication, gratitude, and the values shaped by where I come from. My learning experiences and access to the right tools and resources have also played a key role in my growth. Equally important is my commitment to giving back, which continues to guide and motivate me throughout my journey.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came during my sophomore year of college: walk into every room with confidence and carry yourself as if you belong there. That lesson taught me the importance of presence, self-assurance, and professionalism, even in unfamiliar environments. It continues to guide how I approach new opportunities and challenges.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is that you are more than capable of succeeding and making an impact. You also have the opportunity to challenge the status quo and create change where it hasn’t been done before. Trust your abilities, stay confident in your voice, and don’t be afraid to lead in spaces where you may be the first or the few.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is navigating location-based cultural differences, particularly bridging the Memphis culture with Amazon’s corporate culture. A key factor in making this successful is effective communication and clearly understanding the “why” behind what we are doing. When teams are aligned on purpose and context, it creates stronger collaboration and more meaningful impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, transparency, determination, and clear communication. I also place strong emphasis on understanding the “why” behind decisions and using data to guide actions and outcomes. Above all, I hold myself to higher standards and continuously strive to meet and exceed them in everything I do.
