Her Interview
Ten minutes with Keanna
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success is attributed to my grandparents. My grandmother passed away from breast cancer when I was in 8th grade. I launched my website and Instagram page on the day of her birthday so I could feel like she was a part of it, and her favorite color Teal is apart my logo and one of my brand colors as well. My grandpa started his own business and encouraged me, showing that it is possible to start a business from scratch and to continue to be successful every year.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Instill rules and boundaries in your business and don't let people overwork you. This is your business that you're proud of, so don't let outside people try to influence or change your business. Stay focused on what you want and your ideas for the business.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get discouraged in the beginning because you always have to start somewhere to grow. You're always going to grow so just don't stop. Do not feel discouraged just because you might see other people who might be ahead of you. You always have to start somewhere, and you already have your best foot forward!
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Gaining traction, advertising, and getting myself out there to gain more clients. Having a niche that what everyone else doesn't offer. Remembering to actually take pictures and videos of your work for content.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness, respect, loyalty, and integrity. Kindness because you never really understand what people are going through and what that extra thing they might need for the day. I try to be cost-effective so anybody can book me and give clients the opportunity to find something within their budget. Respect is a big one as well because it shows that you respect what I have to say and what I stand for which is important to me.
