Ten minutes with Keely
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to acting immediately on thoughts and ideas that pull at my heart, putting them into action right away which brings success and confidence. I also have a dark sense of humor as a coping mechanism while studying psychology.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to act on thoughts and ideas immediately without waiting, as this leads to success and builds confidence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Trust your intuition especially with people who make promises, don't depend on another person, always trust yourself and your inner intuition. Let your spirit be your guide.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In the film industry in New Orleans, work has dried up after strikes with people dying by suicide twice a month, making it hard to make money but I keep my drive and keep going without letting it affect me.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Strong values especially around cultural things and inclusion, treating everyone equally, always learning from each other whether student or teacher, being receptive to advice from young or old, never being dominating.
