About Keisha
Keisha Anderson serves as the Houston, Texas Local Taxpayer Advocate with the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), an independent organization within the federal government established by Congress to help taxpayers resolve problems with the Internal Revenue Service and ensure taxpayers receive fair treatment. Recently promoted to her current leadership role, Anderson brings 16 years of federal government service and a strong commitment to public service. In her position, she leads a team of approximately 12 case advocates who assist taxpayers experiencing financial hardships, administrative challenges, or prolonged IRS delays.
Anderson specializes in taxpayer advocacy, case management, and federal tax issue resolution, working with individuals to address complex concerns and navigate the IRS process. She assists taxpayers through direct case management and congressional referrals, advocating for solutions when standard IRS procedures have not resolved their concerns. Her career reflects a dedication to combining regulatory knowledge, effective communication, and compassionate service to help individuals achieve meaningful resolutions.
Anderson earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Florida A&M University, where she also gained valuable media experience as a production assistant with ABC News. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she is committed to community service and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She also serves her community through her church, participating in praise dance and outreach initiatives. Her career and community involvement reflect her values of service, advocacy, leadership, and helping others.
