Her Story

About Keisha

I've been in HR close to 30 years. My journey has taken me to many places meeting different people. I do consulting, implementation of systems, staff advisory, staff augmentation, and system optimization. No two days are the same which I love because it challenges me and allows me to use what I've learned over the years.

Ten minutes with Keisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to always seeing growth. I love looking back 2 or 5 years and seeing how far I've come, even if it's just a little bit of growth each week. This drives me to continuously ensure development in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received from my granddad is to always love what you're doing, because once you love what you're doing, everything's easy. I do love what I do so I don't feel like I have to go to work.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be consistent. Let your work speak for yourself. Try to be as transparent as possible and have integrity. That way you earn respect by the job that you do and the person that you are.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunities are endless with access to many online classes and company support for certifications. The biggest challenge is time management - having the time to do the courses and recertifications.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Transparency and honesty are most important. I am always open and honest with my clients so they can trust me. What you see is what you get, and that carries into my personal life too.
