							Keisha Howard is a seasoned federal professional with 25 years of experience providing high-level administrative support across multiple government agencies. She currently serves as a Program Support Assistant in the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary, Director of Operations, Assistant Secretary, and Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary. In this role, Keisha manages day-to-day office operations, coordinates schedules, prepares materials for meetings, arranges travel, and ensures smooth administrative processes for senior leadership.
Prior to her current position, Keisha contributed her expertise to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where she held several roles including Registration Assistant in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, as well as providing support to the Office of the Secretary. Her experience also includes serving in the Congressional Liaison Service at the Rayburn House Office Building. Throughout her career, Keisha has developed strong skills in policy analysis, office management, and procedural compliance, consistently ensuring that organizational objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Keisha began her federal career as a Stay-In-School program participant and pursued higher education in accounting and computer technology at the University of the District of Columbia and Howard University. Her long-standing dedication to public service, combined with her comprehensive administrative expertise, reflects her commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and unwavering support for the teams and leadership she serves.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering the technology field to focus on education and seek out strong mentorship, as both are key to success. Never give up, always strive for continuous improvement, and be honest with yourself about when you’re ready to take on leadership roles. These principles have guided me throughout my career and can help others navigate this industry with confidence.
