About Keisha
Keisha Williams, MBA, RHIT, is a healthcare management leader with several years of experience directing Health Information Operations across hospital systems nationwide. She specializes in clinical informatics, release of information (ROI), regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and leading high-performing teams in complex healthcare environments.
Currently serving as Clinical Health Informatics Supervisor at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Keisha drives operational efficiency, strengthens data integrity, and ensures compliant, patient-centered processes. She has led multi-site ROI operations, conducted audits, streamlined workflows, and improved performance while safeguarding regulatory standards.
Keisha holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and the RHIT credential and is pursuing a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration (DHA) to further expand her executive leadership and healthcare operations expertise. She also serves as President of the Gulf Coast Health Information Management Association, where she advances HIM education, mentorship, and professional development initiatives.
Active in service and community engagement, Keisha is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and the NAACP; she actively supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and various other initiatives.
Passionate about compliance excellence, operational strategy, and professional mentorship, Keisha is committed to strengthening healthcare systems while elevating the Health Information Management profession.

I attribute my success to genuinely enjoying the work I do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice that I have received and live by is to stay coachable and present, a mindset that fuels my commitment to lifelong learning, adaptive leadership, and thoughtful decision-making.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be curious and absorb as much knowledge as possible. The field evolves rapidly, so it’s essential to keep learning and adapting to new information and skills.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in Clinical Informatics and HIM today is balancing data accessibility with compliance and security. Healthcare organizations are managing increasingly complex regulations, fragmented data systems, and growing patient expectations for fast access to their records. At the same time, workforce pressures and the rise of AI and automation mean we have to ensure accuracy, ethical use of technology, and strong governance. I see the role of HIM leaders evolving from operational management to strategic data stewardship, ensuring that health information is both secure and actionable to support patient care and organizational goals.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value operational courage, making the right decisions even when they’re difficult, and creating lasting impact through mentorship and system improvements. Personally, I prioritize meaningful connections, intentional joy, and service that truly benefits others. For me, success isn’t just about outcomes; it’s about empowering people, fostering growth, and leaving a positive legacy.
