What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a lifelong passion for storytelling and a willingness to explore the intersection of creativity and technology. Growing up in a family of cinema enthusiasts, I was always drawn to the magic of film—from lining up for blockbuster releases like the Star Wars reboots to endlessly discussing what made a story resonate. While my parents were more focused on science, they were always supportive of my interests. A pivotal moment came when I discovered that one of my aunts worked in post-production at Sony. She introduced me to the world of visual effects and post-production, showing me that I could build a thriving career in a field I loved.
My journey began with film studies, where I fell in love with the mechanics of storytelling and the way cinema transports audiences. Post-production became the perfect place to channel that passion—visual effects allowed me to combine creativity with technical precision, constructing imagination frame by frame. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to projects at studios like IMAX, Industrial Light & Magic, Marvel, Sony, Paramount, and now Amazon Studios. From galaxies far, far away to the superhero worlds that define modern cinema, I’ve seen firsthand how VFX is more than spectacle—it’s storytelling, emotion, and world-building at its most precise and collaborative.
Recently, stepping into a temporary leadership role as an associate VFX producer was both validating and transformative. It strengthened my confidence not only in my technical expertise but also in my ability to lead, mentor, and advocate within an industry that is constantly evolving. Storytelling has also taken me beyond the screen; I’m the author of Whiskey Empires, a self-published novel and the first in a planned trilogy set in 1920s Hollywood. Writing allowed me to explore another side of the industry I love—one rooted in history, ambition, and the dreamers who shaped early cinema. Whether through film or fiction, my passion remains the same: creating stories that resonate.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For young women entering this industry, my advice is simple: network relentlessly, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Every opportunity I’ve had has come from making connections, being persistent, and saying yes even when I didn’t feel fully ready.
Early in my career, I was hesitant to share my ideas, but I quickly realized that established professionals value fresh perspectives and want to hear your opinions. Speaking up thoughtfully not only helps you contribute meaningfully, but also accelerates your growth and visibility in the industry.
Building and fostering relationships is key. Lean on your colleagues, ask questions, and welcome constructive feedback—it’s one of the most effective ways to navigate your career and continue learning. Being proactive and open-minded will set you apart and help you create a supportive professional community.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in visual effects today is visibility. While so much attention is given to what appears on screen, I’ve learned that what happens behind the camera is just as important. Women remain underrepresented in visual effects, particularly in leadership roles, and I’m deeply committed to changing that. Representation matters because it creates access. Access creates opportunity. And opportunity, in turn, cultivates the next generation of storytellers who see themselves reflected in this field and are inspired to contribute their own voices.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are deeply connected to storytelling, creativity, and community. Storytelling with purpose is at the heart of everything I do—using visual effects and narrative to convey emotion, meaning, and connection for audiences. Creative integrity is equally important; I strive to balance artistry and technology without ever compromising the story.
I am passionate about representation and inclusion, advocating for greater visibility and leadership opportunities for women in visual effects. I believe in the power of collaboration, knowing that the best work comes from trust, open communication, and a shared vision. Continuous growth drives me—embracing learning, evolving, and taking on new creative challenges, even before I feel fully “ready.”
Equally, I value community and mentorship, supporting others through networking, guidance, and shared knowledge. Resilience helps me navigate a non-linear career path with persistence and adaptability, and I recognize that visibility matters—being seen creates access and opportunity for others. Ultimately, I am committed to authentic storytelling, whether on screen or in fiction, crafting honest, character-driven narratives that resonate deeply.
