Her Story

About Keldamuzik

I've been in the entertainment industry for 20 years, starting as a music artist which eventually opened doors to other areas of the business. I'm a music artist, actress, talk show host, and entrepreneur. In 2019, I started my own company called Diggs Media Group, where I work behind the scenes for other artists and brands while developing my own brands like my TAMS Beret line. I also host a talk show on Tubi called Diva Talk Tonight where I interview guests. A typical day for me involves hopping online, answering emails and phone calls, doing outreach for myself and the brands and artists I work with, signing contracts, and holding lots of meetings and engagement with others. I've really become a multi-hyphenate entertainer-entrepreneur, wearing many hats across the entertainment business. Everything I do, I try to include the word Diva in it or represent Diva, because I've changed the narrative of that name - we're not talking about someone who's stuck up, we're talking about an independent woman who's powerful, who knows what she wants, and sometimes you gotta be a diva to get what you want.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Keldamuzik

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say determination, consistency, and persistency. I had to learn everything on my own and was self-taught. I didn't really have mentors - I had different people whose events I would attend or chat with here and there, but no one wanted to give me any type of advice or consultation. I had to do all the research on my own. My inspiration comes from my grandma, who was always a businesswoman. She used to help a lot of kids get into college, and just always seeing her at her desk doing work for others really inspired me.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say learn from others that are successful. Be open - be open to advice, be open to criticism, try new things, think outside of the box. Do as much research and educate yourself as much as possible. Whatever industry you get into, it's a business first, right? You have to learn it, you have to understand it. And once you do, then the sky's the limit.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The industry is becoming overpopulated - you kind of have the same thing over and over again. Everyone has their LLC, everyone has a beauty brand, everybody has music, everybody produces films, everybody has a fashion brand. You look at Rihanna, Beyonce, Kylie Jenner - all of them have the same type of brands that they're promoting to their audience. So you have to really find a way to distinguish yourself from others. I would say it's a lot of competition out there from the higher-ups to us smaller people. What sets me aside with my brand is the fact that I came up with the name Diva as my alias, and everything that I do, I try to include the word Diva in it or represent Diva. I changed the narrative of the name Diva - we're not talking about someone who's stuck up or who wants M&Ms only, we're talking about an independent woman who's powerful, who knows what she wants, and sometimes you gotta be a diva to get what you want.
