Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kelli

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think just being tenacious you know not taking no for an answer in the sense of like I'm not going to listen but taking it as a okay like maybe not this opportunity but that doesn't mean forever no. That just means that this is the right place situation whatever and just kind of being a little stubborn.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You know a sponge and adaptable I think is the best way to regardless of your field regardless of your role I think always being open to okay that doesn't work let's try something else and you know just kind of soaking up ideas from other people and constantly being learning new things and trying new things out so I think adaptability.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be in every room and be okay being the only one in the room. That's been I've kind of looked up a couple times in the last couple of our bigger meetings you know where I'm sitting with the CEO and our entire exec team and I'm like alright I'm the only woman cool. Just kind of not being intimidated by that.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest one right now is just you know understanding the ins and outs the you know hey this breaker is used for asphalt and this is used for concrete and just kind of learning. We have almost like a hundred different SKUs products or we have almost a hundred different products probably into the several hundreds of different SKUs different variations and sizes and stuff so yeah I think that's the biggest challenge right now is you know just learning the industry and things like that that kind of take time. I think otherwise it's a lot of you know building things from the ground up systems and processes that you know need to be built.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Willing to like willing to listen to other people I think and kind of seeing things from others perspectives. You know whether it's a interpersonal conflict or work conflict I think kind of taking a moment and you know listening and trying to get that person's point of view and being empathetic I think is you know both in career and in life will always get people get you far.
