About KELLI
Kelli Walsh has spent 31 years in the travel goods industry, beginning her career at TravelPro after earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communications with business administration studies. She advanced through roles in customer service, marketing, sales, and training before focusing on product development, where she oversaw projects from conception through production as Director for over 15 years. Walsh developed key processes including a stage gate system and contributed to flagship collections such as Platinum Elite while managing teams and collaborating across departments with vendors in Asia and Europe. She holds Product Management Professional Training from the Project Management Institute and maintains memberships in the Travel Goods Association and Apparel and Footwear Association. Now working as a consultant, Walsh attributes her success to hard work, prioritization, and empowering team members with autonomy. She advises maintaining professionalism, staying calm under pressure, and finding enjoyment in one's work beyond financial rewards. Outside her career, she supports sea turtle conservation, ocean and reef preservation, and animal welfare initiatives.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say hard work, but also not trying to take on too many things at once. It's important to prioritize. Managing people hands-off, giving autonomy, that helped because I had good people working under me that were happy in their job.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always remember to be professional, not overly emotional. When things get crazy, separate, take a breath, start over calmer. Continue to have fun. It's not all about the money, it's about how you spend your time.
