About Kelly
I am an educator and academic leader with a deep commitment to forming the minds and character of young people through classical and liberal arts education, currently serving as Head of School and Dean of Girls at The Hawthorn School, a role I have held since June 2025, where I lead the school's mission and support the formation of young women in New York City. I was also a Founding Faculty member at The Hawthorn School for nearly three years, where I helped build the school from its inception. Prior to that, I served as a Founding Faculty member at Cardinal Kung Academy for four years, where I contributed to the founding and development of another classical school.
Earlier in my career, I served as Project Director at Braver Angels for one year, where I supported cross-partisan dialogue and civic engagement, as Director of Operations and Fellow Selection at The Global Good Fund for two years, where I led operations and selected fellows for social enterprise leadership development, and as Clerk in the Science and Technology Directorate's Office of International Cooperative Programs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for two years.
I hold a Master of Arts in Religion and Religious Studies from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in Humanities with a focus on Intellectual History from Yale University.
Across my career in education, academic leadership, and nonprofit management, my work has been driven by a commitment to intellectual formation, civic engagement, and the development of young people into thoughtful, virtuous leaders. Whether I am leading a school, teaching in the classroom, or supporting social enterprise, I bring a thoughtful, mission-driven, and collaborative approach that has made a lasting impact on the institutions and communities I have served. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue leading and forming young minds as Head of School at The Hawthorn School.
