Her Story

About Kelly

Kelly Buckman is a pastor, speaker, podcast host, and life coach serving through Blended Blessings Ministries in Perrysburg, Ohio. She has served in pastoral ministry since 2006 and has worked as a life coach since approximately 2010. Her ministry is centered on helping individuals, couples, and families experience healing, restoration, and lasting transformation through faith. Her professional background includes Marriage and Family Ministry, Women's Ministry, conference speaking, podcasting, and ministry leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University and is a Certified Professional Life Coach through the Life Coach Institute of Orange County. She also holds a minister's license through the Assemblies of God Church.

Kelly's passion for ministry is deeply connected to her own life experiences and her desire to help others find purpose and restoration through difficult seasons. Earlier in her career, she spent seven years working with a women's residential facility ministry in Nashville, where she supported young women facing significant life challenges, including addictions, eating disorders, and unplanned pregnancies. Her personal experiences with an unhealthy first marriage, divorce, remarriage, and the process of building a blended family have further shaped her commitment to marriage and family ministry. Together with her husband, she has built a ministry focused particularly on couples and families navigating marriage challenges and blended-family dynamics. Their work includes a podcast and resources designed to encourage and equip families through faith.

Through Blended Blessings Ministries, Kelly seeks to remind families that they do not have to navigate difficult circumstances alone and that faith can provide a foundation for healing, stronger relationships, and renewed purpose. She attributes her success to the Lord and approaches her calling with humility, trusting that God will provide the wisdom, direction, and words necessary to fulfill it. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand her speaking engagements and work with conferences and organizations to host events focused on marriage and blended families, including marriage nights that provide practical resources and faith-based support. At the center of her work are her faith, family, church community, and commitment to helping others discover hope and restoration.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kelly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success entirely to the Lord. I believe that the opportunities placed before me, as well as the things He places on my heart and calls me to pursue, are part of His direction for my life. I often find myself asking, “Are You sure, God?” because I do not believe my accomplishments come from thinking I am exceptionally qualified or great. Everything I have and everything I have been able to accomplish in my life, I truly believe, comes from the Lord. I trust that He has chosen the right person for the work He has called me to do and that He will continue to guide me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice reflected in my experience is to trust God's calling rather than allowing self-doubt to determine what I pursue. I have learned that I do not have to believe I am perfectly qualified before stepping into something God has placed before me. My faith teaches me that when He calls me to something, He will provide the wisdom, direction, and words I need along the way.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

It is important to have confidence in yourself while also refusing to doubt what God has placed inside of you. God does not necessarily call the qualified; He qualifies the called. If you believe He has called you into something, have confidence and trust that He will continue to lead you in the direction you need to go. He will provide the wisdom you need, give you the words you need to speak, and equip you for what lies ahead. Do not allow uncertainty about your own qualifications to prevent you from answering your calling.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I believe there is a significant opportunity to support marriages and families through faith-centered resources, community, education, and practical ministry. Through Blended Blessings Ministries, I am particularly passionate about supporting couples and families navigating marriage challenges and blended-family dynamics. Our podcast and ministry provide opportunities to share resources and experiences with families who may feel alone in what they are experiencing.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my personal life, I value my family and my relationship with the Lord above everything else. My faith is foundational to how I function within my family and approach my work. I also deeply value my husband, who is my best friend, a source of strength, and an incredible support and partner. Our five children are incredibly important to me, and I cherish watching them grow and develop into amazing young people. Our church and our church family are also dear to me, providing an important sense of community and connection.
