Her Story
About Kelly
I've been in the mortgage technology field for 13 years, and my journey has been shaped by growth and adaptation. I started with Mortgage Returns, a St. Louis-based CRM company serving the mortgage industry, beginning as a sales operations manager before taking over all direct mail handling. Through acquisitions by Ellie Mae and then ICE Mortgage Technology, I've continuously expanded my expertise across multiple platforms. Today, I work in communications for our Velocify team, focusing on the AI side - developing technology enhancements and improvements and integrating them into different platforms. I also manage content teams that publish email and SMS messaging content sent to our customers through our ECRM system. One of my proudest accomplishments was spearheading the migration of 170 employees from two separate ECRM systems after we acquired Surefire, completing this complex project in just 9 months. What I love most about my work is my team - watching what we accomplish in a day, the output that comes from all those long, hard hours, and seeing a project come to fruition.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work and dedication. Beyond that, it's about learning new things and being willing to adapt when needed. I've filled in when people are no longer there or take leaves of absence - I've been all over the company, I feel like. Getting to know everybody and just being willing to help out has been key to my journey.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Work hard, keep your head up. Every path has a future. Don't be afraid to ask and learn.
