Kelly St. Myer

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
Houston, TX 77002

Kelly St Myer is a C-suite commercial executive serving as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Chief Commercial Officer, SVP of Sales & Marketing, and Founder of Welcome To Houston™, where she leads enterprise revenue strategy, brand development, and commercial alignment across complex, multi-market organizations. With a track record of driving more than $250M in revenue growth across hospitality, real estate, and diversified asset portfolios, she is recognized for building high-performance commercial engines that integrate sales, marketing, operations, and emerging AI-driven technologies to maximize enterprise value and long-term growth. She leads with an entrepreneurial mindset and a core belief that if she can conceive something in her mind, she can hold it in her hand. Known for thinking outside the box and building in alignment with her empathy-driven leadership style, she has consistently created innovative, people-centered strategies across her career. Her professional journey began in the medical and dental field as a teenager, but her life changed profoundly after her then husband was catastrophically wounded in Afghanistan. During that period, she was also diagnosed with cancer and broken heart syndrome, and together they spent years navigating recovery through hospitals and extended stays in temporary housing, experiences that deeply shaped her perspective on resilience, service, and human connection. During those years, she witnessed the emotional and environmental impact on children living in hospital settings, which inspired her involvement with Building Homes for Heroes. Starting the Florida chapter from her countertop while living out of a suitcase, she helped grow the organization into one of the largest nonprofit initiatives in the country, advocating at the state and federal level through engagements with the Capitol, Senate, and House of Representatives to secure critical support for military families. This humanitarian foundation continues to inform her belief that hospitality exists in every industry—at its core, it is about service, empathy, and authentic human connection. Across her life, she has built and led multiple ventures, while remaining deeply engaged in community development, always focused on legacy, impact, and empowering others to transform their lives through mindset, resilience, and intentional action.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous self-education, as I see myself as a polymath who is always learning and expanding my perspective. I also credit my success to empathy, active community engagement, and a genuine passion for the work I do, all of which keep me grounded and connected to others. Daily mindfulness practices further support my clarity, discipline, and ability to stay intentional in both my personal and professional life.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to invest deeply in relationships, as they are the greatest currency in any career. I encourage being a self-starter who takes initiative and creates opportunities rather than waiting for them. It is also important to set ego aside and remain fully committed to client-centric service, always prioritizing the needs and outcomes of those you serve. Finally, I believe in continuously learning, staying open to new roles, and actively engaging in community involvement to grow both professionally and personally.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think one of the biggest challenges right now is finding employees that really want to come in and be part of a positive culture and are open and receptive to learning how the hospitality industry works. A lot of people come in from a place of fight or flight, from survival mode. That's why I've co-founded Precision Plate Hospitality Trade School, because many employees aren't getting the full preparation they need. They only get the book work, not the little extra to help them become great or even realize if hospitality is what they really want to do. If we can teach them from this hospitality course at Precision Plate, then we're equipping them with the understanding of the hospitality industry and the drive to want to be the greatest version of themselves. The hospitality industry is very focused on being client-centric, which means setting your ego aside and smiling through the challenge. We don't accept abuse, but we also recognize that at any moment, someone can be going through something that we have no idea what that is, and we have a service to provide, and that is hospitality.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Empathy, community service, mindfulness, authenticity in hospitality, relationships, and building a legacy.
