01What do you attribute your success to?

Determination. Hard work. Perseverance. Professionalism. Education. Desire for excellence. Love and support from family and friends.

Also my deep passion for the type of work that I do and the opportunity to create and inform.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If you're going to be working 40+ hours a week, try to get work doing something you love to do. - My Grandfather.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be afraid to have an 'interim position' - that is, a job that pays the bills while you work towards your career goals. Keep up with industry trends. Understand that failure can be an opportunity to learn. Be patient; sometimes what we are looking for takes time to appear in our lives. And if you feel like you can't find the opportunity you're looking for, when applicable, create your own opportunities through networking, volunteering, information interviewing and creating your own content. Find time in your life to do things, other than work, that bring you joy.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Both the Radio Industry and the Audiobook Industry face a similar challenge from Artificial Intelligence / Synthetic Voices, being used, without permission, consent or compensation, to train AI voice models. However, I don't believe that AI will take away all the radio and audiobook work; but it does mean that both industries have become exceedingly more competitive. The opportunity in this, is that your ability to create is as limitless as your imagination.

“The human voice is the most perfect instrument of all.”Aristotle
