About Kelsey
I'm a sales professional with 8 years of experience, specializing in governance, risk, and compliance for the past 6 years. After college, I became passionate about social justice and activism and thought I wanted to be a teacher, so I taught in Milan, Italy for a year. I loved it, but I wanted to make more money, so I moved into sales, starting in hospitality. I realized if I was really going to be in sales, I wanted it to be in a more lucrative industry, so I moved into software sales, or tech sales.
I started at Audit Board in 2020 when it was a startup of about 180 people. By the time I left in 2023, we had reached around 1,000 people and the company was acquired by HG at a $3 billion valuation. I was the first business development representative to be promoted to Account Executive ever in the company's history, which was a really big deal. From there, I went to Oracle NetSuite selling ERP systems, but I was missing my specialty in governance risk compliance, so I joined Process Unity where I have a better territory and better pay.
My typical day involves 4 to 8 client calls, including discovery calls with new clients to understand their pain points, demonstration calls, pricing calls, and sometimes legal negotiations as we redline contracts. I also train business development representatives on making cold calls to chief information security officers and create content for outbound outreach. I work hard, but I'm very grateful for all the opportunities I've had and for my career.
