Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kelsey

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to valuing and truly listening to our associates and acting on their feedback. Building strong partnerships with our operations teams has also been essential, along with a continued investment in training and development. I've also been fortunate to have experienced mentors who guided me along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received is not to be afraid to start over — it's never too late to pursue something new if you're passionate about it. I try to focus on what makes me happy rather than worrying about what others think, and to keep going even when things get hard, taking it one day at a time.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to give themselves time to adjust, since HR wears many hats and it can feel overwhelming at first. Don't give up right away — network, build relationships, and have the drive to find answers even when you don't already know them.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Some of the biggest challenges I've navigated include managing workforce impacts from health crises like COVID, high turnover, and adapting as automation and AI continue to evolve. At the same time, I see real opportunity in improving the associate experience to reduce turnover, upskilling our teams, and sharing best practices across facilities.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect and a sense of belonging matter most to me, along with acting with integrity and trustworthiness. I always strive to put my best foot forward and do my best work, while treating everyone with kindness regardless of their perspective or background.
