Her Story
About Kelsey
Kelsey Walton serves as an analyst for Centene Corporation, managing the Nevada health plan in a distinctive hybrid capacity that bridges claims operations and provider relations. With nearly two decades of experience in healthcare, her career began in a large San Diego healthcare system where she trained across departments and oversaw charity care initiatives that provided pro bono services to uninsured patients. She has since worked in hospitals, emergency rooms, trauma units, and as an EMS provider before transitioning to the insurance side. Kelsey holds a bachelor's degree in Operations Engineering and is completing her bachelor's in Management. She is a certified compliance officer, documentation specialist, coder, and nurse. Living in rural Nevada as a single mother to two daughters, she values the remote flexibility of her role that allows her to remain present in her children's lives while advocating for quality care in underserved communities.

Never be afraid to push back, especially if you know in a situation. Make sure I have all the facts, of course, but never be afraid to push back from someone who is either in my position or higher.
