About Kemarra
Kemarra Moses is a nonprofit leader, founder, and community advocate dedicated to building people-centered initiatives that strengthen organizations and empower communities. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is the founder of Impact on Purpose, a person-centered consulting and speaking brand focused on workforce sustainability, staff retention, leadership development, and community impact. Impact On Purpose is about “Equipping mission-driven organizations with the tools to build resilient teams, sustainable workplaces, and purpose-driven leadership.” Holding a degree in Psychology and an MBA from Carlow University, with a background in workforce development, youth build, healthcare, community engagement, and systems strategy. Through her work, Kemarra creates supportive spaces where helping professionals reconnect to purpose, address burnout, and build healthier, more sustainable teams. With a professional background spanning healthcare, maternal and community health, nonprofit leadership, and program management.
Kemarra has developed a reputation for compassionate leadership and collaborative impact. She currently serves as Senior Case Manager at the Garfield Jubilee Association and Treasurer for the YouthBuild Pennsylvania Coalition, while previously holding leadership roles with Healthy Start and UPMC Health Plan. Giving her a strong foundation in healthcare support and community care. Blending business strategy with a deep understanding of human behavior and organizational wellness. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of lived experience, professional expertise, and authentic connection. I wanted to create spaces where people feel seen, energized, and equipped to lead with purpose. Whether I’m speaking to frontline staff, organizational leaders, young adults, or community partners, my goal is always the same. To help people and organizations move from survival mode to sustainable impact, because when people are supported well, communities thrive
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is: "Follow the plan, not your mood!"
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to "Keep your eyes on the prize and never allow distractions, negativity, or outside noise to pull you away from your goals."
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping long-established organizations break out of silos and become more open to new approaches. At the same time, that challenge creates a powerful opportunity to introduce more collaborative, people-centered, and sustainable workforce practices that can strengthen both teams and communities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life is building trust, building authentic relationships, and leading with transparency in everything I do.
