About Kendra
Kendra Davis serves as a process integrity quality coach in Seattle, Washington, within the pharmaceutical quality assurance field. She entered the industry in 2012, initially working in quality control before advancing to quality assurance roles, including positions focused on oncology medications at a company in Seattle. Davis earned her undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical science from North Carolina Central University. She is a member of ISPE and attributes her success to stubbornness and personal grief. In addition to her professional work, Davis is a committed community service advocate who teaches English as a second language to adults through Jubilee Reach and leads a grief support group while pursuing certification as a grief coach. She values integrity, honesty, and self-awareness, and advises young women entering the field to be solution-oriented and to do it scared. Davis notes that the pharmaceutical industry faces challenges from reduced funding, evolving FDA and DEA standards, new medication production, and mergers and acquisitions, while opportunities in quality assurance remain abundant.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kendra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to stubbornness and my own personal grief. There's nothing I can't do, and no one can convince me otherwise.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Make sure that you're solution-oriented because that's the majority of the job. And number two, I'd say, do it scared.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The pharma industry funding has been taken away under the new administration, making companies nervous about sustaining programs. There's a growing list of changing FDA and DEA standards, producing new medications, and a lot of mergers and acquisitions. Opportunities are endless because quality assurance work is always needed.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is really important. Honesty is a big one for me as well. And just self-awareness. Those three go together pretty well.
