About Kendra
Kendra Frame is a transportation professional with almost eight years at J.B. Hunt. Her background in the industry stems from her father, who drove double and triple tankers for Land O'Lakes. Frame has been recognized with the Nestle Carrier of the Year award in 2021 and Leader of the Month in December 2024. She volunteers extensively with driver appreciation events, the Truck Driving Championship, and the Million Mile Celebration, often working long hours to support drivers. Frame attributes her drive to succeeding for her children and grandchildren, including an adopted son, and she advises young women entering the field not to fear failure as it fosters growth.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kendra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I'm just very passionate about succeeding for my kids and my grandkids. I want to show them what it means to be a person that works hard, that is passionate, that is empathetic. And I just want to show my kids what I feel success is. I want to teach them to be someone that can be trusted, someone that has good intentions. Honestly the only reason I even went back to college is because my son was adopted, and I was like, okay, I need to give him a better future. And in order to do that, I need to set a good example. I need to go to school. I need to set a career, I need to show him what a good woman is.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to fail. Failure is where growth comes. One thing a lot of people struggle with is you learn from your successes. Success is easy when you're doing it over and over. Failure presents challenge, presents growth, presents opportunity to improve. You grow in those hard situations.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
We're experiencing the pricing being and the market being extremely volatile right now, which makes it really difficult in the transportation sector, because people aren't buying as much. There's not as many goods moving, so just now the market is very volatile, and it makes it very difficult to try and kind of force forecast what's going on. It has to be adaptable, especially in the current market.
