What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence, preparation, and purpose. Working in compliance can be demanding, but I’ve learned that consistency and integrity are what truly drive long-term success. I’m grateful for mentors like Lisa, who reminded me that excellence is built through focus and ethical leadership. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience across seven lines of business—including mortgage banking, internal audits, and process improvement—which has strengthened my ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Early in my career, I realized that compliance allowed me to combine my passion for structure with my love of problem-solving. That balance between accountability and service continues to guide and inspire my work every day.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my greatest mentor, Lisa Thompson, a former compliance director I worked with early in my career. She encouraged me to speak up, share ideas, and never shy away from tough conversations. Lisa taught me that confidence isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about being the most prepared one. Her guidance helped shape my professional confidence, resilience, and commitment to always showing up ready to add value.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the compliance industry is to stay curious, steady, and ethical. Never stop learning—every regulation, project, and conversation offers an opportunity to grow. Be confident in your knowledge, and remember that success in compliance isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress, accountability, and maintaining integrity in every decision you make.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in compliance today is keeping pace with the rapid evolution of regulations as technology, automation, and AI advance faster than policy can adapt. Yet, this challenge also brings tremendous opportunity — the chance to modernize compliance systems, enhance efficiency, and leverage data to make more informed and ethical decisions across industries.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is at the center of everything I do, both personally and professionally. I lead with empathy and consistency, striving to create an environment where people feel safe to ask questions, learn, and grow. Mentorship has been such an important part of my own journey, and I’m intentional about paying that forward — offering support, guidance, and encouragement to help others reach their full potential.
