01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my children, who have inspired me to push beyond my limits and achieve more than I ever thought possible. Their support, love, and motivation have encouraged me to continue growing both personally and professionally. They have been my greatest source of inspiration, reminding me to persevere, embrace challenges, and pursue my goals with determination and purpose.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to never stop learning. I believe that continuous growth and staying open to new knowledge are essential for personal and professional success. Each day presents an opportunity to gain new skills, expand my perspective, and improve in my field. By remaining curious and committed to learning, I continue to evolve and provide the best care and service possible.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the animal care industry is to keep an open mind, work hard every day, and embrace the opportunity to continue learning. The willingness to grow, adapt, and gain new knowledge has been one of the most valuable choices I have made throughout my career. Learning something new not only helps you become better at what you do, but also keeps the work exciting, rewarding, and full of opportunities for growth.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

As a woman and a single mother of three boys, I have faced challenges while building my career in the animal care industry, but those experiences have also strengthened my resilience and determination. The field continues to provide many exciting opportunities for growth and specialization, including areas such as laboratory medicine, large animal care, small animal practice, exotic animal care, shelter medicine, and surgical support. I believe the ability to explore different specialties allows professionals to continue expanding their skills, finding new passions, and making a greater impact in animal healthcare.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value that is most important to me in both my work and personal life is honesty. I believe that having the truth and understanding the full story is essential to providing the best care, making informed decisions, and building trust with others. In animal care, honesty allows me to better understand each situation and provide the support and solutions needed. I strive to approach every interaction with transparency, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
