Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kenitra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the values and beliefs instilled in me at a young age by my parents, both military service members, who emphasized education, hard work, and striving for excellence in everything I do—this foundation fuels my determination, ambition, and lifelong thirst for knowledge

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to leverage the strengths, experience, and wisdom of those around you to your advantage, while also remembering that true leadership isn’t about you—it’s about what those in your charge achieve and how your guidance makes them better.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering my industry, I’d advise embracing self-awareness of your strengths and weaknesses, staying grounded in faith and family values, and committing to relentless self-investment through education and learning from diverse perspectives—leaders set the tone, so lead with authenticity, wisdom (as in Proverbs 4:7), and a focus on empowering others.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in work and personal life are trust, accountability, respect, purpose-driven growth, and service to others—rooted in my faith in God, my parents’ military legacy, and the belief that when we prioritize people, the mission takes care of itself.
