Ten minutes with Keri
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to proactive thinking, resilience, and my commitment to doing challenging work with excellence. I believe in anticipating risks, creating systems that prevent issues before they escalate, and bringing clarity to complex, high-stakes situations. Every experience, including moments of uncertainty and setbacks, provides an opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen my approach.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received has been centered around the importance of intentional growth, continuous learning, and being open to guidance from mentors and leaders who have invested in my development. I am taking time to thoughtfully reflect on the individuals who have shaped my career journey and the lessons they have shared along the way.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to focus not only on accomplishments but also on developing a strong decision-making mindset. Early in your career, your approach to problem-solving, communication, and navigating challenges will often shape your long-term success. In compliance and employee relations, it is important to normalize difficult conversations, be transparent about complex situations, and approach high-stakes investigations with confidence and care. Teach others what excellence looks like by breaking down expectations and standards so leaders can become proactive rather than reactive. Most importantly, be accessible and approachable—impact often comes through connection, mentorship, and the willingness to support others.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing risk, fairness, and business priorities in rapidly changing global environments where consistency is essential, but context and nuance matter. Complex investigations require precision, thoughtful analysis, and the ability to make defensible decisions under pressure. Organizations also face challenges with ensuring policies are applied consistently across different regions, cultures, and leadership styles. At the same time, there is a significant opportunity to shift from reactive approaches to proactive, prevention-focused models that strengthen organizational culture, reduce risk, and support sustainable growth amid an evolving regulatory landscape.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the foundation of my work and the basis of trust, especially in compliance and employee relations. I value fairness by ensuring decisions are equitable, unbiased, and applied consistently. Accountability means taking ownership of decisions, actions, and outcomes with transparency. Courage allows me to engage in difficult conversations with honesty and clarity. Empathy helps me balance business needs with a genuine understanding of people and their experiences. Finally, I value proactivity—anticipating challenges and building systems that prevent issues while creating environments where people and organizations can thrive.
