About Keri
Keri Pickett is a public safety dispatch, emergency communications, law enforcement operations, and supervisory leadership professional with over 21 years of experience. She started as a public safety dispatcher or 911 dispatcher in 2005 with the Mariposa County Sheriff's Department, where she answered 911 calls and dispatched officers for about three years. In 2008, she joined the California Highway Patrol as a public safety dispatcher. She was promoted to Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor I in 2013 and to Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor II, a management position, in 2019. In her current role, she runs a 911 communication center with three supervisors under her and about 30 dispatch positions. She handles the day-to-day operations of the 24/7 facility, including on-call responsibilities for emergencies and sick call-outs, serves as the hiring manager, assesses employee and supervisor performance, and analyzes call data and radio traffic. She recently earned a master's degree in law enforcement and public safety leadership from the University of San Diego and is a member of the supervisor union ACSS.
