Her Story

About Keva

When every door closed, she built her own.”

Keva Alexander moved from Massachusetts to Minnesota, she believed she was stepping into the opportunity of a lifetime — a new home, a new car, a fresh start. But within weeks, every interview ended the same way: “You’re overqualified.” Instead of breaking her, the setback awakened something deeper. Keva remembered God dream she carried for 4 years — to build her own consulting firm and empower people on her own terms. So, she stopped waiting for permission and started writing her business plan.

Today, Keva is the founder of KMAC – Keep Moving Above Counseling, a faith‑rooted financial empowerment and insurance consulting firm designed to help individuals, families, seniors, and small businesses rise above hardship and into stability and protection. Her journey is backed by more than 25 years of excellence.

Even as she builds KMAC, she continues to walk boldly into new opportunities — including a promising offer with Wells Fargo now in final review.

Keva’s story is one of courage, faith, and reinvention. She is a woman who turned uncertainty into destiny, and her message is simple:

“I didn’t come this far to stop. I came this far to build.”

Ten minutes with Keva

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of faith, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to serving people with excellence. Every chapter of my journey — from banking and financial counseling to ministry leadership — has taught me the power of perseverance, compassion, and integrity. I’ve learned to rise after every setback, to reinvent myself when necessary, and to trust that every closed door is simply redirecting me toward something greater. My ability to build genuine relationships, solve complex problems, and uplift others has been the foundation of my career. Above all, I credit God for giving me the strength, vision, and courage to keep moving above every challenge and step boldly into my purpose.

  • The banker who solves complex problems
  • The counselor who listens deeply
  • The minister who leads with compassion
  • The woman who refuses to quit

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was simple but life-changing: never let anyone dim your light, and always be your authentic self. Throughout my career — from banking and financial counseling to ministry leadership and now entrepreneurship — I’ve learned that staying true to who I am is my greatest strength. Authenticity has opened doors, built trust, and allowed me to serve people with excellence. And protecting my light has helped me rise above challenges, setbacks, and environments that didn’t recognize my value. That advice has guided every major decision I’ve made, including the courage to build my own consulting firm and step boldly into my purpose.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry to never give up on the dreams God placed inside of you. People may doubt you, doors may close, and the journey may feel slow — but God never gives up on what He has promised. At the right time, He will make it happen. Stay authentic, stay prayerful, and stay encouraged. Your light is your gift, so protect it, nurture it, and let it shine boldly. Keep the faith, keep growing, and keep moving above every challenge with confidence and grace.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is getting people to openly admit they need financial help. Many individuals and families are struggling silently — overwhelmed by debt, rising costs, and financial instability — but pride, fear, or embarrassment often keep them from seeking support. At the same time, this challenge creates a powerful opportunity: when people finally reach out, they are ready for real guidance, real solutions, and real transformation.

Another major challenge is access to financial resources. Too many people don’t know where to begin, what tools are available, or how to navigate the systems that could help them reach stability. This gap creates an incredible opportunity for leaders like me to step in with education, counseling, and protection strategies that empower people to rebuild their financial lives with confidence.

In short, the challenge is awareness — but the opportunity is impact. And that’s exactly where my work, my calling, and my business step in.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me — both in my work and in my personal life — are integrity, compassion, and purpose. I believe in being a woman of integrity at all times, whether someone is watching or not. Integrity guides how I treat people, how I make decisions, and how I show up in every environment.

I also value being willing to help others in their time of need, especially when I know it is part of my assignment. Throughout my career in banking, counseling, insurance, and ministry, I’ve learned that real impact comes from serving people with sincerity, empathy, and excellence.

Finally, I value purpose — walking in what God has called me to do. When I operate from purpose, I stay grounded, authentic, and aligned with the work I’m meant to carry out. These values shape how I lead, how I build relationships, and how I continue to grow both personally and professionally.
