Her Story
About Keya
Keya Malhotra is a geriatric specialist practicing outpatient geriatric medicine in Lubbock, Texas, where she manages chronic conditions, conducts diagnoses and investigations, and addresses socioeconomic factors affecting her patients, most of whom are 75 and older. She began her medical training in 2001 and completed a geriatric fellowship at the University of Maryland in 2014, a choice she considers one of her proudest accomplishments due to the rewarding nature of caring for seniors with complex needs. In addition to her full-time clinical role, Malhotra conducts Alzheimer's research at Texas Tech University, engages in community speaking, writes articles for caregiver journals, and serves on the advisory board for the Junior League of Lubbock. She also founded Reside Ally, an online marketplace platform that connects individuals living alone with those offering extra bedrooms to combat loneliness, an initiative that earned her a grant from Texas Tech University in April of this year along with a smaller competition win the previous year from the Texas Tech University Innovation Hub.
