About Keyerra
Keyerra Williams is an author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of My Scars Speak: Healing Out Loud, a movement dedicated to helping women heal, grow, and discover purpose beyond their pain. Through speaking engagements, community outreach, conferences, and mentorship, she empowers women to embrace their stories and find strength in life’s most challenging seasons.
As the owner of Elevated Praise Dance Studio and a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, Keyerra has spent years creating spaces where individuals can heal, build confidence, and pursue their God-given purpose. She is also committed to serving her community through outreach initiatives, including supporting those experiencing hardship and homelessness.
Her most notable achievement is the publication of her book, My Scars Speak, which shares her personal journey of overcoming Stage 4 endometriosis, infertility, loss, and multiple major surgeries. For years, she carried these battles silently while continuing to work, serve others, and show up faithfully each day. Through her book and movement, she courageously reveals the struggles she faced behind the scenes and the faith that sustained her through them.
After being forced to close a business due to health challenges, Keyerra chose to rebuild, reclaim her voice, and transform her pain into purpose. What began as a personal testimony has grown into a platform that inspires women across the country to keep moving forward despite life’s setbacks.
Today, her mission is to remind women that a diagnosis is not a destiny, setbacks are not the end of the story, and scars are not signs of defeat—they are evidence of survival, healing, and resilience. Through every message she shares, Keyerra encourages others to believe that life is not over after adversity; it may simply be the beginning of a greater purpose.

Ten minutes with Keyerra
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, authenticity, and a genuine desire to serve others. For a long time, I didn’t realize the impact I was having on people simply by showing up, sharing my story, and encouraging others through their own challenges. A woman from my church actually sent me this opportunity because she felt my voice and journey needed to be seen and heard. That moment reminded me that our influence often reaches further than we realize.
Success, to me, is not measured by titles or accomplishments alone—it’s measured by the lives we touch along the way. Through my faith, my testimony, and my commitment to helping others transform pain into purpose, I have been able to encourage women to keep moving forward despite adversity. Knowing that my story gives someone else hope is what motivates me every day and is the foundation of everything I do.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is, “Don’t chase money—chase purpose.” That simple but powerful advice has guided me throughout my journey as an author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of My Scars Speak: Healing Out Loud.
I believe that when you focus on your purpose and the impact you are called to make, the right opportunities will follow. Rather than pursuing what is most profitable, I strive to pursue what is most meaningful. Leading with purpose has allowed me to share my testimony, empower women through their healing journeys, and build platforms that encourage others to transform pain into purpose.
Every meaningful opportunity in my life has come from serving others, being authentic, and staying committed to my calling. Purpose has opened doors that I never imagined, and it continues to guide both my personal and professional journey.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the speaking, authorship, and empowerment space is to be authentic and never underestimate the power of your story. In a world where it can be tempting to compare yourself to others, remember that your unique experiences, challenges, and perspective are what make your voice valuable.
Don’t wait until you feel completely ready to start. Many opportunities come while you’re still learning and growing. Stay committed to your purpose, continue developing your skills, and be willing to serve others along the way. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but consistency, faith, and perseverance will take you further than perfection ever could.
Most importantly, don’t allow your past, your pain, or your circumstances to define your future. Some of the very things you’ve overcome may become the tools that help someone else heal. Your story has power, your voice matters, and there is room for you to make an impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the healing and advocacy space right now is ensuring that women feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Too often, women suffer in silence while navigating life-changing diagnoses, grief, trauma, chronic illness, or other personal battles. Many feel pressured to appear strong on the outside while struggling internally.
This issue became deeply personal for me through my own journey with endometriosis. After facing a diagnosis that has no known cure, I had to make a choice: allow my circumstances to defeat me or fight through them one day at a time. Through lifestyle changes, faith, perseverance, and a commitment to my healing, I learned that our challenges do not define our worth or determine our future.
At the same time, I believe this challenge presents a tremendous opportunity. There is a growing need for honest conversations about healing, chronic illness, grief, and resilience. Women need spaces where they can share their stories without shame and know they are not alone.
That is the heart behind My Scars Speak: Healing Out Loud. Healing out loud means refusing to hide behind pain. It means showing up, embracing your journey, and recognizing that a diagnosis, loss, or setback does not diminish your value. Every woman deserves to know that she is seen, her voice matters, and her story has the power to inspire hope in others.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me as a woman of influence in both my work and personal life are faith, authenticity, impact, resilience, and empowerment.
Faith is my foundation. It keeps me grounded in purpose and reminds me that my influence is not about status, but about service and obedience to what I am called to do.
Authenticity is essential to me because true influence does not come from perfection—it comes from honesty. I believe women lead most powerfully when they are willing to be real about their journeys, including the struggles behind their success.
Impact drives everything I do. I don’t just want to speak or create; I want my work to leave people better, stronger, and more hopeful than before.
Resilience is another core value, shaped by my personal journey through health challenges, loss, and rebuilding. I’ve learned that influence is not proven in ease, but in how you rise after difficulty.
Finally, empowerment is at the heart of my mission. I am committed to helping women find their voice, own their story, and walk confidently in their purpose without shame.
These values shape how I show up as a leader, speaker, and advocate, and they are the foundation of My Scars Speak: Healing Out Loud.
