Her Story
About Khushi
Khushi Sharma serves as a business analyst in the IT department of a financial firm, supporting business units such as Baird Advisors that deal with bonds and fixed income. In this role, she gathers requirements from the business, coordinates with IT teams, pairs with developers, and works on data-heavy applications including profiling data, loading it into databases, and applying logic to build the right products. She graduated with a major in computer science in December 2025 and has eight months of full-time experience in the field, along with two to three years including internships and research assistantships. Her path began with an interest in how technology can be applied beyond building apps, sparked by watching Marvel movies and Iron Man as a child, leading her to explore data's role in industries like healthcare and mechanical engineering through research projects. She pivoted to business analysis because she enjoys being a jack-of-all-trades person who learns different types of technology in a choose-your-own-adventure manner where every day presents new challenges.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Khushi
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I struggle with striving for perfection especially in computer science. My advice is to not strive for perfection all the time and just try to grab the opportunities as you can. It doesn't matter if you're scared or not prepared. Doing it not great is better than not doing it at all.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
AI and data and how the world is changing can be overwhelming to keep up with. It takes a very curious and clear mind to go after these things. Having a curious open mindset helps - just try it and see what people are doing or how I can learn.
