Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith in Christ, which has been my foundation and source of strength throughout my journey, guided by the message of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I believe persistence, resilience, and the commitment to stay the course have been essential in overcoming challenges and achieving my goals. Having a clear vision, continuously investing in my education, and pursuing professional certifications have allowed me to grow, expand my knowledge, and remain prepared for new opportunities. My success is a reflection of dedication, lifelong learning, and the belief that with faith, focus, and perseverance, meaningful accomplishments are possible.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You don’t have to prove your value by doing everything yourself. Your work ethic will open doors, but your ability to lead people will determine how far you go.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to write the vision and make it clear, then create a plan to help bring that vision to life. Document your ideas, set intentional goals, and remain committed to the journey, even when challenges arise. Stay the course, ask questions, be confident and assertive, and never stop learning. Continuously invest in your growth by gaining knowledge, pursuing certifications, and seeking opportunities that will strengthen your skills and expertise. It is important to understand where you want to go before you begin the journey and be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve your goals. With preparation, determination, and a clear sense of purpose, you can build a successful and fulfilling career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Leading through change. I am not maintaining a building- I am working to change the culture. People often resist change in roles, responsibilities and accountability..

My opportunity is if I am successful, I will have established myself as a leader who can transform operations, not just manage them.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

God First, Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Professionalism and Relationship Building
