Her Story
About Kianna
Kianna Sitzmann is a dialysis nurse currently working on one of the Nebraska reservations in Macy. In this role, she sometimes serves as charge nurse but prefers working the floor to connect directly with patients, providing care during 3-to-4-hour dialysis sessions that replace about 15-20% of kidney function weekly. She has a year and a half of experience in oncology and a year and a half in ICU. She is completing her nurse practitioner degree at Morningside University next May and plans to finish her doctorate in May 2028. She graduated with honors with her bachelor's degree and is the only one out of six siblings to complete a degree. Her path into nursing was inspired by her grandparents' battles with cancer.
