Her Story

About Kija

Kija Cammock is a mother, educator, advocate, and the owner of Holistic Works LLC, a natural wellness business she founded in 2020. Driven by a passion for helping others live healthier, more balanced lives, she has developed a business centered on natural wellness products and holistic approaches to well-being. Her commitment to wellness is deeply personal, shaped by her long-standing interest in making thoughtful choices about what she and her family consume and use. Alongside her entrepreneurial work, Kija has built a meaningful career in education and mental health, with approximately seven years of experience supporting children and individuals with diverse needs. Her professional background includes working in special education and behavior classrooms as a paraeducator, registered behavior technician, and special education teacher, as well as supporting students with complex medical and behavioral needs. She has also worked in acute psychiatric hospitals alongside nursing professionals, experiences that have strengthened her understanding of behavioral health, communication challenges, and the importance of individualized support. At the heart of Kija's work is a genuine desire to help people, particularly children, young adults, adults with special needs, and women seeking greater wellness and empowerment. She values empathy, integrity, and compassion, taking pride in witnessing people overcome challenges and develop greater independence in their daily lives. Her dedication to service was influenced by her mother and grandmother, who instilled in her the importance of education and helping others along the way. Outside of her professional pursuits, Kija enjoys spending time with her energetic twins, playing in a women's basketball league, cooking, experimenting with healthy recipes, and exploring natural approaches to family wellness.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kija

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my genuine passion for helping others and making a positive difference. My mother and grandmother also played a major role in shaping who I am, especially my grandmother, who always emphasized the importance of education and encouraged me to pursue college. Their guidance, combined with my desire to serve others, has helped me grow personally and professionally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to remain authentic, follow my heart and passions, and never stop learning. I’ve also learned from my own experiences to adapt in every environment but never to adapt to the environment! Also a healthy work/personal life balance will be necessary!

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering the industry to build a good support group! It won’t always be family or close friends but get people you can trust around you and make adjustments as necessary. You’d be surprised how much of your time and talents can become wasted hanging around the wrong people!

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in my field is expanding access to holistic support for children, adults, and individuals from all walks of life. I’m focused on obtaining my counseling license to bridge the physical, mental, and emotional gaps that a holistic lifestyle supports, while educating people about natural wellness, healthy choices, and the connection between what we consume and our overall well-being. My goal is to provide practical education, resources, and ongoing support that empowers individuals to live healthier lives.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are empathy, integrity, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. I’m most passionate about providing the guidance, resources, and support people need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential whether its clients on my jobs or family members and the community at large.
