What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my tremendous drive, my energy, and my passion for connecting with people. I thrive on building relationships and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I work with. I would not be as effective and successful without all the clients who have humbled me over the years with their personal stories of pain and triumph.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice by a colleague who told me to not to listen to those who want to keep you from achieving greatness. Their fear should not be yours. It's been the negativity that has inspired me to go further in my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to take the word 'can't' out of their dictionary. Keep persevering and keep going. Surround yourself with those who will be your best supporters and will keep you from falling over the 'cliff.'
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities are the connections with a supportive network of women who want to mentor other women in similar fields. The mental health care field for private practitioners can be very isolating, especially for those who are just starting out.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are integrity and honesty. I aspire to be as authentic as possible with meeting with clients and that my attentiveness comes across. I find humility and humor to be lacking in many spaces.
