I’m an entrepreneur, business strategist, and sales professional with a passion for helping businesses grow through sound financial management and customer-focused solutions. Over the course of my career, I’ve successfully owned and operated multiple businesses, built high-performing sales careers in luxury automotive and hospitality, and developed expertise in business operations, financial analysis, and client relationships.

Today I’m the founder of Cotter Ledger & Strategy, where I combine my accounting knowledge, Quickbooks expertise, and business experience to help businesses create organized financial systems, improve decision making, and build stronger, more profitable companies.

I’m committed to lifelong learning and I believe resilience, discipline, and continuous reinvention are the foundation of lasting success.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kim

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning. I’ve embraced change, built businesses from the ground up, navigated setbacks, and consistently sought opportunities to expand my skills. I’ve never stopped reinventing myself.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Remain current with your skills and always be adding to them. Stay true to yourself, stay authentic, make your own path, know yourself and follow your own path because everybody has a gift to share with the world.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Getting a mentor is key to success. With a good mentor or even more than one, you can cut down the learning curve, save steps in your career, and have someone guiding you on how to navigate. Mentors are irreplaceable and indispensable.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is growing the size of your firm because bookkeeping is a very trust-based business and you have to be relationship-driven to build it and win new clients. The greatest opportunities are with technology, AI assistance, and AI-enabled bookkeeping which allows more time to focus on the advisory aspect.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Always transparency and integrity. That's really about it and I've always been that way in any field with my customers.
