Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kim
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to pushing forward and determination. I started grad school when my son was months old and had to balance being a professional, mother, student, and researcher. Really wanting to do what you're doing is important.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in yourself. Don't let anyone tell you that you're not worth what you're charging because you're a woman. Don't let anyone look down at you. Act as if you're a man. Have full confidence in what you're doing and be able to back yourself up with real data.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The greatest challenge is convincing the mainstream about mycelium. It's harder to sell luxury products in the current vulnerable financial state. In the age of social media and AI, how do you stand out and market?
