Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kim

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the freedom to pursue a God-given dream and the inspiration I gain from being surrounded by other entrepreneurs, particularly women who are pursuing their own goals. I believe community, mentorship, and meaningful relationships are essential to navigating life’s setbacks, staying motivated, and keeping a vision alive. The encouragement and perspective I receive from those around me continue to fuel my determination and remind me that success is often strengthened through collaboration, support, and perseverance.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was simple: Build people not just businesses. When you take care of your people, your business gets taken care of too.

Over the years I’ve learned that success isn’t built on products or profits alone. It’s built on people. When you invest in your team, celebrate their wins, help them grow, and genuinely care about their lives, they don’t just become better employees. They become better leaders. They form better relationships and that’s the kind of success that lasts.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to start before you feel completely ready. Seek out mentors who have achieved what you aspire to accomplish and intentionally place yourself in rooms where you can learn from experienced leaders. Observe the decisions, habits, and steps that contributed to their success, then apply those lessons to your own journey while developing your unique strengths. Most importantly, be willing to take action, remain open to learning, and pursue opportunities that challenge you to grow.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

If you ask me, the biggest challenge today isn’t finding customers. It’s finding great people and giving them a reason to stay. The greatest opportunity is creating a culture where people feel valued, challenged, and excited to come to work every day. I’ve always believed that if you take care of your team, they’ll take care of your customers, and the business will take care of itself. People are, and always will be, the greatest investment you’ll ever make.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are freedom, family, faith, service to my community, mentorship, and resilience. These principles guide how I lead, make decisions, and interact with others. I believe in using my experiences and opportunities to serve and encourage those around me, while remaining resilient through challenges and committed to supporting others through mentorship. Above all, I value the freedom to pursue meaningful goals, the strength of family and faith, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in my community.
