Her Story
About Kimber
I've been an entrepreneur at heart for as long as I can remember. My dad ran his own business and taught me early that work is a privilege, especially when you're passionate about what you do.
I started Custom Ideation in 2017 because I wanted to build something of my own while being present for my son when he was young. What I didn't expect was how much I'd come to love the work itself. There's something deeply rewarding about partnering with business owners who are building something meaningful and helping them find a clearer, more confident path forward.
My career has taken me through sales, purchasing, operations, HR, strategic planning, and marketing, and that breadth is central to what I do now. I can see the big picture and drill down to the details, which means I understand not just where a business wants to go, but what's actually getting in the way.
That perspective was confirmed in a real way during Covid. Helping clients navigate that period of uncertainty and watching them come out the other side made clear that this work genuinely makes a difference.
At Custom Ideation, I work closely with owners to align strategy, marketing, and operations so their business can grow in a way that's sustainable, intentional, and truly theirs.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be curious, be open-minded, and be bold in going after your passions.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say the onset of AI in everything is both one of the biggest challenges and one of the biggest opportunities. I am doing my best to keep up and evolve as it continues to evolve. Instead of looking at it as something that's going to replace some of what we do, we are looking at it as how can we leverage it to improve what we do. The challenge is in keeping up with its evolution and everything that continues to evolve and where it shows up in every platform and everything that we're doing, as well as the challenge of making sure that the human touch remains important in our relationships with clients so that they don't feel it is something they could just do with AI. I truly don't believe that they could. I think we bring an extra layer and a level to what we do and the outcomes that we deliver that AI on its own couldn't do. But it's a great tool when used appropriately.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is extremely important to me. Respect and mutual respect - respect within the team, respect within our ecosystem of clients, respect of our clients, and their respect of us and the expertise that we bring to the table. Authenticity is also crucial. There is something about just being real where the human factor to things really does make a difference, and it's important in how we act and perform in the role that we play. We don't want to lose that connectivity. That human-to-human connection is just really important.
