As the Director of the Institute for Culture, Change, and Leadership (iCCL), she partners with organizations to develop culturally competent leaders, foster inclusive environments, and address complex organizational challenges. Her diverse professional background spans human resources, commercial banking, healthcare operations, and higher education, providing her with a unique perspective on organizational effectiveness across multiple industries.

A scholar-practitioner with a Ph.D. in Organization Development and an MBA, Kimberley serves as a Senior Lecturer at Eastern Michigan University, where she teaches organization development, leadership, change management, and business communication. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Benedictine University and a published author whose work focuses on leadership, uncertainty, communication, and cultural competence. 01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and building strong relationships across diverse teams and industries. Throughout my career in fintech, banking, and program management, I've learned that success comes from bringing people together around a common goal, maintaining a focus on execution, and staying open to new ideas and perspectives. Like Kimberly, I believe that effective leadership is rooted in communication, collaboration, and creating environments where individuals and organizations can grow and thrive.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is that hard work and strong relationships will open more doors than you can imagine. I've found that consistently delivering quality work, being willing to learn, and building genuine connections with people have been key drivers of my success. Throughout my career, those principles have helped me create meaningful opportunities, and they've reinforced my belief that success is built through both dedication and the support of a strong professional network.

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, collaboration, continuous learning, and making a meaningful impact. Personally, I value respect, kindness, inclusion, health, and maintaining a balanced life. I believe that treating others with empathy, staying curious, and approaching challenges with a positive mindset are key to both personal fulfillment and professional success.
