What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to an impressive 20-year career journey that has allowed me to grow and evolve across multiple industries. I began in interior design, transitioned into furniture sales and the medical field, and ultimately found my true calling in the apartment industry. Today, I specialize in flooring and spend my days on the road visiting properties, building lasting relationships, and supporting both clients and residents with dedication and expertise.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that your reputation is everything—protect it, build it, and never stop earning it. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned throughout my journey is the importance of reputation and relationships. Early in my career, I was taught that how you treat people, how consistently you follow through, and the integrity you bring to your work form the foundation of lasting success. I’ve carried with me the importance of being present and dependable in every interaction—showing up for others not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. I’ve also learned the value of staying humble and continuously learning, no matter how far you advance in your career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is managing a relationship-driven role that requires daily travel and constant face-to-face interaction with clients and residents. This dynamic environment demands high energy, problem solving, exceptional time management, and the ability to quickly build trust with people from all walks of life. While it can be demanding, it’s also what makes the work so rewarding. Every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen relationships, create positive experiences, and make a meaningful impact in the communities I serve.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are rooted in relationships, integrity, accountability, and service. I place a strong emphasis on building genuine, lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and community members because I believe success in the apartment industry is built on trust and authentic connection. Maintaining a good reputation is also central to who I am. How you treat people and follow through on your commitments reflects your professional integrity, and I hold myself to that standard every day. Consistency and accountability are non-negotiable for me—they ensure that I deliver on my word and that nothing falls through the cracks, even in a fast-paced, relationship-driven role. I’m also deeply committed to helping others, whether through mentoring, community involvement, or simply being someone clients and colleagues can depend on. My dedication to service extends beyond work through my support for organizations like the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Apartment Life, as well as my professional engagement with IREM, Atlanta Apartment Association and Middle Georgia Apartment Association. Mentors such as Jack Weissman, Industry Friends and Vendors have inspired me to uphold these values consistently and to lead with authenticity, humility, and purpose.
