About Kimberly

Kimberly Aponte Borden is an accomplished attorney with more than three decades of experience in litigation, specializing in plaintiff’s personal injury, mass tort, and class action matters. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Temple University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She later received her Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law in 1994, beginning a legal career built on advocacy, trial experience, and a commitment to protecting the rights of individuals.

Kimberly began her litigation career in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Narcotics and Trial Divisions. During her tenure, she prosecuted more than 1,000 felony, misdemeanor, and civil drug forfeiture cases, gaining extensive courtroom experience and developing a strong foundation in case evaluation and trial strategy. She later transitioned to civil litigation, working in both defense and plaintiff-side practices before focusing on representing injured individuals through personal injury, pharmaceutical liability, mass tort, and class action litigation. At SHELLER, P.C., she successfully handled complex matters involving defective drugs, product liability, wrongful death, and civil rights claims.

Throughout her career, Kimberly has been recognized for her legal skill and dedication to her clients, including multiple selections as a Super Lawyer and recognition for her achievements in personal injury litigation. One of her notable accomplishments includes contributing to a landmark $77 million verdict in the Risperdal gynecomastia litigation through her work on punitive damages briefing. Beyond her legal practice, Kimberly is committed to serving her community through pro bono legal work for animal rescue organizations and shelters. She continues to be guided by a passion for justice, persistence in advocacy, and a belief that every injured person deserves strong representation and a voice in the legal system.
