Her Story

About Kimberly

Kim Finco serves as Production Manager at CoreFX, a role she assumed in November 2025 after progressing from Production Supervisor at a smaller company. She entered the manufacturing industry in December 2015 and earned her degree in organizational leadership and communications after initially studying math and physics. Kim credits her professional approach to her father's strong work ethic, which instilled in her the drive to be inventive, consistent, and dedicated to making others feel valued. She advises being the solution to problems, maintaining a positive attitude, asking questions, and networking to build supportive teams. At CoreFX, an R&D-focused company, she sees opportunities in developing products that support cancer treatment patients and infant formula while addressing challenges in staffing. Kim values keeping her word, fostering loyalty and enjoyment in the workplace, and has volunteered with a church in Costa Rica to distribute hot meals to the homeless.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kimberly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my dad's work ethic. Watching how he works, how inventive and creative he is, very steady attitude, everyone loves him, just a hard worker. You're always working because you want other people to feel happy, you want what you touch to be something that is successful, or that your name brings a smile to someone's face.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received was to be the solution to the problems. It doesn't have to be a problem that you created. Be the person that people can depend on for a solution, and to be consistent with your behavior and your actions. Keep a smile on your face, be thankful for the people you work with, make everyone feel valued. Be the servant to your team.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would give the advice to come in with an open mind and a positive attitude. Ask questions. Don't be ashamed to ask questions. Find a mentor. Ask your boss or someone else in that field. The more people you can network with and ask questions to. Keeping an open mind and smiling. No one's going to want to get rid of someone who is a positive influence and makes people feel valued.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges right now is building up the right staff, finding the right people. The biggest opportunities is what still lies ahead. We are a research and development company as well. Some of the products we have might go to cancer treatment patients, some are going into infant formula. The opportunities to be able to catch other people's lives, make them healthier, create the vitamins, or find that research that will help other people's health. Grow on that, care about it, show it, be invested, get to know the other departments.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I keep to my word, be consistent, keep a positive attitude. Lay those seeds down for growing a healthy environment of love, of caring, of loyalty. Make work something that is enjoyable, and surround yourself with people who are going to make your life better by making sure they also feel that.
