Persevering through the sudden death of my first husband. As a widow, I learned I had to keep living, finding strength I did not know I had.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kimberly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, hard work, and continuing to pursue opportunities throughout my career. Coming from a small town in Pennsylvania and working my way up to Autodesk, a global software technology company, has been a dream come true. My current role as Revit Community Manager represents the peak of my career, and I am proud of the professional journey that brought me here.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Some of the best career advice I received came from excellent mentors, particularly Frank Warner, a key instructor who encouraged me to pursue opportunities and celebrated my achievements throughout more than 30 years. His guidance reinforced the importance of recognizing opportunities and having people who believe in your potential. I have also drawn inspiration from influential architects such as Zaha Hadid and Frank Lloyd Wright, whose work demonstrated the value of creativity, vision, and pushing boundaries.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to keep working hard and never give up, even when things become difficult. Persistence is essential, and challenges should not discourage you from pursuing your goals. My own journey demonstrates that it is never too late to continue learning, pursue new opportunities, and achieve your dreams.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see this stage of my career as an opportunity to build on everything I have accomplished and continue to grow. Having reached what I consider the peak of my career at Autodesk, I am ready to continue soaring and making the most of the opportunities ahead. My work connecting Revit users with the teams developing the software also gives me an opportunity to help customers' ideas and feedback influence the future of the product.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

One of the values most important to me is using my own story and experiences to inspire others. I want people to see that it is never too late to pursue their dreams or achieve success, regardless of where they began. I value continuous growth, perseverance, and sharing what I have learned with others. Outside of work, family, music, and community involvement are important to me; I enjoy spending time with my family, singing in a community chorus, and playing the clarinet.
