Her Story

About Kimberly

I've been in my field for 6 to 8 years, working as a customer service representative and sales representative dealing with selling products and healthcare insurance. My career path has been diverse - I started with my own business selling hair and making a nice amount from that, then moved into music while also selling phones at Walmart. After working in Walmart's deli section for a couple years, I transitioned into healthcare, which is what I've stuck with since. I work both remotely and in-office, and my typical day involves taking calls that come in automatically, working with different age groups including seniors and people with disabilities. I help get them into the correct healthcare plan and compare healthcare plans for existing members to make sure the plan they have is actually the best plan for them. What sets me apart professionally is that I go over and beyond what's asked and needed for the job description, and my interaction with people and customers. I've noticed a lot of people aren't able to deal with rebuttals and customers with concerns, but that's something I'm able to handle easily, even when dealing with customers who are already frustrated from a problem they've had.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my fiance. He has been the key person supporting me and helping me achieve what I've accomplished so far in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received would be not to think of a job as a job. This perspective has really helped me approach my work differently and has been meaningful in how I view my professional life.
