Her Story

About Kimberly

I am a facilitator with clients in terms of articulating how to accomplish their financial and legacy goals. I'm also a people manager, and in my role doing that, I am a direct and clear communicator with an action orientation. I'm not shy in terms of addressing any issues or challenges, but also I'm not shy in sharing the praise and the support when people do things well. I do have a book of business with clients, but that is a secondary responsibility to my strategy and implementation of goals for the people that I manage in the trust space, who are called fiduciary advisors. A good rule of thumb for a fiduciary advisor is that they have three goals, none more important than the other, and all are equally important: one is service, one is clients, and one is sales. I want to build deeper, and I assist them build deeper, stronger relationships with the clients that they serve, based in a consistent manner, in a compliant manner, and positioning them for future growth, whether it's assets under management or what we call a fiduciary appointment. We want people to name us as their trustee, we want people to name us as executor.

Ten minutes with Kimberly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my parents instilling in me the importance of education and showing up 100% every day, even when you don't feel like it. That foundation has been critical to everything I've accomplished in my career.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I actually have had the opportunity to do this, and I would say knowing what you don't like is just as important as knowing what you do like. And it's more, you know, the liking is an educated liking, not like, oh, I don't like chocolate ice cream, but there are certain things that appeal to you because of your strength and your personality, and those are going to be the kinds of areas that you'll be the most fulfilled in. On occasions, it could not even feel like work.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I'd have to say implementation of AI. A lot of what financial advisors and planners do is a synthesis of information and facts, and AI can do that far better than we do, and in a more efficient way. What I heard recently, and I don't know if I read this or I heard this, someone said that relationship management is the thing that will separate the work that financial advisors do from what AI does. AI can never take the place of relationship management, and us knowing our clients on a personal level, not just the numbers. That is the challenge.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, integrity, and compassion are the values most important to me in both my work and personal life.
