Her Story
About Kimberly
Kimberly Lee serves as an IT Support Tech 3 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico. With roughly 26 years in information technology, she began her journey while pursuing studies in social work at a local community college, where a work-study position in the computer lab and an internship at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation sparked her interest in IT. This led to setting up computers at Navajo chapter houses, followed by a decade as a PC technician at Central Consolidated School District. She gained further experience as a data center technician at a utility company in Shiprock for nearly four years and then spent four years at Navajo Agricultural Products Industry handling technology for farming equipment. After a break during COVID, she joined San Juan Regional Medical Center through a contracting role that became permanent, advancing from IT Support Tech 1 to her current Tech 3 position, the only one on her team. A member of the Navajo Tribe, Lee draws on mentorship from colleagues like Diane Jones and others, and she now focuses on deploying imaging systems via Endpoint Central and preparing for Windows 11 rollouts while mentoring team members in the healthcare environment she considers her true calling.
